Description
Kilmote, Lothmore is a house dated 1767, featuring a single storey and a dormerless attic, facing south. The south front has a projecting gabled section with three narrow central bays and a later rear wing that creates a cruciform plan. The exterior is mainly harled with ashlar margins, and there is some harl pointed rubble walling at the rear.
The entrance is a narrow door located centrally, leading to the south projecting wing, which has a dated and initialled lintel and is accessed by a flight of steps with a harled rubble balustrade. The door is flanked by narrow windows, with single first-floor windows in the outer bays above and a blind oculus beneath the apex stack. There is a bipartite window inserted in the right bay, with some 12-pane glazing, and the building features corniced end and ridge stacks, topped with slate roofs.
Additionally, there is a coped rubble garden wall that includes a cast-iron pedestrian gate with spearhead decoration.
