1 Cloch Road, Gourock

This mid-19th century cottage, located at 1 Cloch Road in Gourock, is a single-storey, three-bay rectangular-plan building that originally served as a toll house. It features a front made of pink sandstone with stugged ashlar and polished margins, while the rear and sides are constructed from coursed and squared rubble. The front elevation includes a gabled ashlar porch topped with a truncated finial, which houses a two-leaf panelled door and narrow windows on the sides. The outer bays each have a single window.

At the rear, there is a lean-to timber extension. The west elevation has a tall square-section wallhead stack and a single window to the left. The east elevation is blank but has a wallhead stack similar to the one on the west. The cottage is fitted with fixed-pane metal windows from the 1930s. It has a piended slate roof with lead flashings and two coped ashlar wallhead stacks. A low rubble wall with semicircular coping surrounds the property.
