Description

Mid 19th century. Single storey 3-bay rectangular-plan cottage with stone-built porch, former toll house. Pink sandstone, stugged ashlar front with polished margins, coursed and squared rubble to rear and sides. Raised margins.

N (FRONT) ELEVATION: gabled ashlar porch with truncated finial and 2-leaf panelled door, narrow windows on return; single windows to outer bays.

S (REAR) ELEVATION: lean-to timber extension.

W ELEVATION: tall square-section wallhead stack; single window to left.

E ELEVATION: blank; wallhead stack as above.

Fixed-pane 1930s metal windows. Piended slate roof with lead flashings; 2 coped ashlar wallhead stacks (see above). Low rubble wall with semicircular coping.
