St Andrew's Episcopal Church, Academy Street, Fortrose

St Andrew's Episcopal Church, located on Academy Street in Fortrose, was built between 1823 and 1828, with later additions and alterations by Ross & Macbeth in 1891 and 1904. The chancel was completed by Ross & Macbeth in 1907, and a vestry was added in 1913. The church is designed in the Perpendicular style and constructed from ashlar stone. Originally, it was a simple rectangular structure with four buttressed bays, featuring pinnacled buttresses, including diagonally set ones at the corners topped with crocketted pinnacles. The windows include timber tracery and are adorned with hoodmoulds.

The late 19th and early 20th-century modifications introduced a semi-octagonal, pinnacled apse at the east, a gabled baptistry at the west, a gabled porch at the north-west, and a vestry at the north-east. The roofs are slated.

Inside, the church features a re-casting from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including a wrought-iron chancel screen, a stone screen in the baptistry, a stone pulpit with a stair-baluster made of cast-iron and brass, a stone font, and plain pews. Stained glass by Holt & Co of Warwick, dating from the early 20th century, can be found in the apse, porch, baptistry, and one south window.
