Description
The lodge at Lyndale House, built around 1830-1840, features a picturesque tea-caddy design. It is a single-storey structure with three bays and a central door. The exterior is harled, showcasing contrasting long and short margins. The round-headed central door is flanked by round-headed bipartite windows, and there is a similar window on the west gable facing the drive. The building has rounded corners, deep eaves, and a rounded piended West Highland slate roof, which includes a small central platform with an ashlar stack.
The gate piers, constructed in the later 19th century, are square and made of bullfaced rusticated stone, topped with wide ashlar caps. There are both double and single pedestrian cast-iron gates with spear-head detailing.
