Description
Sutton Court Lodge, along with its gates and gatepiers, dates from around 1820. The lodge is built from finely squared, dressed, and coursed sandstone with freestone dressings and features a slate roof. It is a rectangular structure with a canted end positioned at right angles to the road. The lodge is one storey high and has two-light round-headed windows with hoodmoulds, small pane glazing, and Y tracery. The central doorway is located in the canted bay and features a flush-headed panel door. There is a 20th-century stone porch leading to the drive. A stone stack with a brick cap is located at the centre of the ridge. The gatepiers stand approximately 2 metres high and have vermiculated rustication at the bases and coved caps, with chamfered rustication on the piers. The gates consist of pedestrian and drive gates that have chamfered lattice work panels.
