Description

Springfield, located at 3 Cathedral Square in Fortrose, is a building dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the early to mid-19th century. The elevation facing Cathedral Square is constructed of rubble with painted margins and features an irregular design.

The building is a 2-storey and attic range. The elevation towards High Street is made of ashlar stone, with raised margins, an eaves band, and an eaves course. This side has 5 bays, with one ground floor window enlarged to serve as a shop window. There is a late 19th century gabled dormer on this elevation, and the roof is covered with slate. The High Street front displays a 12-pane glazing pattern.
