Description
The Bank of Scotland, located at 23 High Street in Fortrose, was built in 1869 by A & W Reid. It is constructed from snecked rubble with ashlar dressings and features two storeys and three bays. The left bay is slightly advanced and gabled, with a two-storey bay window. In the center, there is a doorpiece with a bracketed segmental arch and a segmental-arched window above it. To the right, there is a tripartite window on the ground floor and a bipartite window with a gablet dormer head on the first floor. The building has crow-stepped gables and a slated roof. There is a small single-storey modern extension at the east gable.
