Description
Woodside, located at 15 High Street in Fortrose, is a building that dates from the 18th century and was later modified in the 19th century. It consists of two parallel ranges, with the rear range being the original house and a larger block added to the front. The exterior is harled with ashlar dressings and features two storeys. The symmetrical front has three bays, with the centre bay advanced and gabled. Above the first-floor window, there is a projected stepped string course and a ball finial at the apex of the gable. The outer bays have tripartite windows on the ground floor and pedimented dormer heads on the first floor. All gables are crowstepped, and the roofs are slated. The property is complemented by a rubble garden wall with a dressed coping and cast-iron railings in front of the house, along with additional rubble-built garden walls.
