Town House, 7 Cathedral Square, Fortrose

This building, known as the Town House, is located at 7 Cathedral Square in Fortrose and dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with broached ashlar dressings.

The structure has two storeys, a basement, and an attic. The front facing Cathedral Square features three bays, with a central door that has a later cast-iron porch, which is accessed by a flight of steps that over-sail the basement and are supported by cast-iron balusters. The outer bays have full-height bows with tripartite windows. The building is topped with a crenellated parapet and has three piended dormers.

On the High Street elevation, the building also has two storeys and an attic with three bays and two piended dormers. The roof is slated, and there is some quality plasterwork present in the interior.
