Description
Seaforth House, located at 8 Academy Street in Fortrose, was built in 1783. This tall three-storey house features three bays and a central door. The exterior is harled with raised ashlar margins. The windows on the first floor are taller than those on the ground floor, while the second floor has smaller windows. Notable architectural details include a moulded eaves course, scrolled skewputts with cable moulding and leaf decoration, and 12-pane sash windows. The house has a slate roof. There is a modern porch and small flanking windows, as well as modern window designs on the Academy Street side. A single gate pier is engaged in the north gable, which is coped and topped with a ball finial.
