Laurel House, High Street, Cromarty

Laurel House, located on High Street in Cromarty, was built in 1828. It is a tall two-storey house with an attic and features three bays, with a central panelled door. The exterior is made of coursed rubble with polished ashlar dressings, while the rear and side elevations are constructed from random rubble with some harling. The front windows have moulded architraves, and the first-floor architraved windows are connected by a cill band. There is also an eaves band and three wallhead segmental-headed dormers. The roof is slate-covered. There are additions at the rear of the house. The property is complemented by square ashlar corniced gate piers topped with domed caps and ball finials, along with a low coped wall featuring cast-iron railings.
