Firth View, 55 Shore Road, Invergordon

Firth View is a house located at 55 Shore Road in Invergordon, built around 1830. This two-storey and attic building features three wide bays and is constructed of coursed rubble that has been whitewashed, with contrasting painted ashlar dressings and harled flanks. The center bay is recessed, with the entrance concealed by a modern lean-to. Above this entrance, there is a blocked tripartite window that fills the recess, framed by pilastered and corniced jambs, along with blind side lights. The outer bay windows have moulded architraves and cornices on the ground floor. There are two piended dormers with original nine-pane glazing. The house has corniced and rendered end stacks and a slate roof, with a wing extending to the rear. Additionally, there is a low coped retaining wall from the later 19th century, which features ornate cast-iron railings and a matching pedestrian gate.
