Commercial Bank Of Scotland, 60 High Street, Invergordon

The Commercial Bank of Scotland, located at 60 High Street in Invergordon, was built in 1856 and features an Italianate architectural style. This tall three-storey building sits over a raised basement and has three bays.

The exterior is constructed of coursed tooled rubble with polished ashlar dressings and rubble flanks. The left (east) outer bay showcases a pilastered and corniced doorpiece, while the ground floor has corniced windows. The first-floor windows feature segmental pediments, with the central bays designed as tripartite and all linked by a cill course. All windows have moulded jambs and the ground and first floors have panelled aprons.

To the west, there is a single-storey wing over a raised basement, which has a single bay and a bipartite window detailed similarly to the ground floor. The building also has a moulded eaves band, deep bracketed eaves, and corniced end stacks, topped with a piended slate roof.
