Description
The Royal Bank of Scotland, located at 102 and 104 High Street in Biggar, was built around 1850 and is a two-storey structure. It features an ashlar exterior and a slate roof, with a symmetrical three-window front. The building has a pilastered door, although the portico has been removed. At the ground floor, there are pilastered tripartite windows that slightly project, topped with a cornice over a moulded cill course. The first-floor windows are architraved, with lugs and original glazing, and the building also includes a string course, cornice, and blocking course. The corners are accentuated with vermiculated rusticated quoins. There is a modern addition to the west side of the building.
