Description
The Anchorage is an asymmetrical gabled villa built around 1875, featuring Gothic details. It is constructed from snecked rubble with ashlar dressings and has two storeys, with the first floor rising into the roof. The villa has tripartite windows in both gabled bays, with a square bay projecting on the left side that includes moulded detail on the parapet. There are stepped hoodmoulds above the first-floor windows and triple blind slits at the apex of both gables, with similar detailing on the tall, gabled stack on the return of the advanced bay. A later projecting porch is located in the centre bay, which has two small lights above it. The roof is covered with slate.
