House And Shop, Main Street, Golspie

This is a mid-19th century, two-storey building combining a shop and a house, situated on Main Street in Golspie. It features a wide, asymmetrical three-bay design. The building is harled with painted margins. The central bay contains a doorway, while a wide, advanced, and gabled bay extends to the left. This bay’s ground floor houses the shop, with a central entrance flanked by large, original square shop windows. Above, paired windows are aligned centrally, with a corbelled, corniced apex stack. The north-facing return elevation also features paired ground and first-floor windows. A round-headed pend doorway is located in the extreme right bay. The windows are fitted with four-pane glazing, and corniced end stacks project from the roof. The building is roofed with slate. The store at the east gable is not included in the listing.
