Description
The Head Forester's House at Ratagan is a late 18th and early 19th century building of two storeys and three bays. The front facade is harled, while the sides are of white-washed rubble. A projecting gabled porch with a central door is prominent on the front. Later 19th-century windows, arranged as bipartites, flank the porch. The original, smaller windows on the first floor have been enlarged, with one notable alteration to the NW gable. The windows are fitted with four-pane glazing. A section of the building projects to the rear. Chimneys are located at the ends of the structure, and the roof is covered in slate. A drystone wall encloses the garden.
