Description
This is a later 19th century villa located at 44 and 44A Queen Mary Avenue in Crosshill, Glasgow. The building has two storeys and features asymmetrical elevations. The street-facing side includes a recessed low right (west) bay with steps leading to the entrance. There is a canted window in the west flank, which is probably not original, and a gabled bay next to it. On the garden side, there is an advanced gabled bay also at the west, showcasing distinctive detailing. The villa mainly has single and bipartite windows, which are sashes with a horizontal glazing pattern. The roofs are broad-eaved and have a shallow pitch, covered with slate. A single stack remains, while the east gable has been reconstructed.
