Description

The gate piers at Castlemilk House on Croftfoot Road are possibly from around 1833, which is the reputed date of the Castlemilk House bridge. These piers feature a pair of castellated gothic gateways that flank the original drive to Castlemilk House. They are made of ashlar stone and have crenellated parapets. Each pair consists of chamfered square piers, with a linking two-centred-arched opening. There are modern gates installed now. A quadrant wall remains at the south side.
