Description
The gate piers and lateral piers opposite the entrance drive to Shapwick Manor date from the late 18th century or early 19th century. They are made of ashlar stone and feature chamfered angles with moulded apex caps. The two lateral piers are also constructed of ashlar and have cushioned caps, matching the style of the main gate piers. Concrete gate posts have been added between the original gate piers to narrow the gateway, and there is currently no gate present.
