3 Blairbeth Terrace, Rutherglen, Glasgow

2 Blairbeth Terrace is a later 19th century terrace building featuring stylised Greek revival detailing. It stands two storeys high, plus an attic over a basement, with a symmetrical front that includes projecting bays. The exterior is finished in polished ashlar, with some painted detailing. Notable features include friezes at the pilastered doorcases and at the eaves, which are adorned with disc ornament. The windows are architraved, either flat-margined or unmargined, and consist of plate glass sashes. The building has prominent horizontal bands and a blocked main cornice with a blocking course. The attic dormers are pedimented and set within a slated and leaded mansard roof. The inner bays are paired and canted, topped with steep French roofs, while the outer bays are shallow and bowed, featuring three windows with a roof that curves over and is covered in fish-scale slating. The roof leadwork is decorated with rosettes, and the building has banded ashlar stacks. It is set behind low boundary walls, with steps leading up to the doors. The flank elevation facing Blairbeth Road is asymmetrical.
