This large two-storey villa, built around 1880, shows the influence of architect Alexander Thompson. It features a square tower situated in the re-entrant angle of an advanced inner gable and has an arched open porch on the left side. The design is asymmetrical and constructed from stone-cleaned ashlar with stugged coursers and polished dressings. Notable architectural elements include round-arched lights and sculptured detailing, with some features, such as the porch and the balcony of the curved window bay in the gable and right bay, made from a different stone color. The villa has plate-glass sashes and decorative ironwork on the balconies at the tower, as well as a fret-worked gablehead and chimney stacks. The broad-eaved roofs are slated, and there is a modern forestair on the right flank. The low boundary wall includes modern iron railings and ashlar gatepiers with sculptured detail.
