The Laurels, 361 And 361A Albert Drive, Pollokshields, Glasgow

The Laurels is a villa built around 1880, located at 361 and 361A Albert Drive in Pollokshields, Glasgow. This two-storey, three-bay structure features pilastered window mullions and is constructed from stone-cleaned ashlar with painted details. It has plate glass sash windows and a central Ionic portico. A distinctive curved full-height window bay is topped with a roof finial. The building includes band courses, a frieze, bracketted eaves, end stacks, and a slate roof adorned with Thomsonesque chimney cans. There is also a rear wing. The boundary wall steps down to the street and includes painted gatepiers with an unusual design, which are square at the base and moulded to circular domed tops, featuring incised details.
