Sherbrooke Castle Hotel, 11 Sherbrooke Avenue, Pollokshields, Glasgow

Sherbrooke Castle Hotel is a large two-storey villa built in 1896 by architects Thomson and Sandilands, now functioning as a hotel. The building features detailing primarily in the Scots Renaissance style, with some mullioned and transomed windows. It is constructed of bull-faced red ashlar, and the windows have multi-paned upper panels beneath slate roofs.

On the northeast flank, there is a tall, thin tower adorned with balustrades, bartizans, and a cap-house. The symmetrical northwest front faces the street corner and includes a crow-stepped centre flanked by conical-roofed large angle bartizans. The other elevations of the building are asymmetrical.

The interior has been altered during its conversion to a hotel, featuring a grand central stair that is illuminated by top-lit stained glass panels. The boundary walls are also made of bull-faced red ashlar, complemented by iron railings and significant modern slapping along Sherbrooke Avenue.
