Business Centre, 192 Mcneil Street, Glasgow

The Business Centre at 192 McNeil Street in Glasgow was designed by J R Rhind and built between 1904 and 1906 in the French Renaissance style. Originally constructed as a library, it now serves as a Day Nursery. The building has two storeys and is made of red ashlar, featuring intricate sculptural details. It includes mullioned and transomed windows, with arched and key-blocked openings on the ground floor. The central entrance is elaborate, and there is a bay to one side that rises as a square tower topped with a richly detailed drum cap. Additionally, there are three domed bartizans and two gable ends on the right side of the wall head. The main roof is slated, and there is a tall single-storey rear range that runs the full length of the building, complete with a rooflight.
