Description
The Southern Necropolis, located at 316 Caledonia Road in Glasgow, is a cemetery that opened in 1840. It was extended to the east in 1846 and received a gate lodge in 1848, with further expansion to the west in 1850. The cemetery features a series of high-quality stone monuments, including those dedicated to Alexander Thomson and Charles Wilson. It is divided into Western, Central, and Eastern divisions. The boundary walls are primarily made of ashlar stone, which is droved to the street and topped with ashlar coping.
