42 East Quality Street, Dysart

42 East Quality Street in Dysart is a house dating from around 1800, now converted into offices. It is a three-storey, three-bay structure with a rectangular plan, featuring stone-cleaned ashlar and coursed rubble, along with base and eaves courses.

The northwest elevation, which is the principal facade, is symmetrical. It has a central door with a plate glass fanlight, flanked by windows, and there is regular fenestration on each floor above. The southeast elevation, which is the rear, also has symmetrical fenestration, including small slat-hung dormer windows over the outer bays.

On the southwest elevation, which faces the cross street, there is a flat-roofed extension at the ground level that is not included in this listing. This elevation has windows on the outer left at the first and second floors, as well as a small window in the gablehead to the left. The northeast elevation is largely blank, with a small blocked opening to the right in the gablehead.

The building features modern glazing and is roofed with grey slates. It has coped ashlar stacks, ashlar-coped skews, and a cast-iron downpipe with a decorative rainwater hopper on the northwest side.
