Description
Early 19th century. 2- and 3-storey, rectangular-plan hotel on ground falling to SW. Painted render with stone margins some dressed quoins, painted brick to rear. Base and eaves courses, moulded string courses to 3-storey block.
NW (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3-storey block to right with 2-leaf panelled timber door and plate glass fanlight to centre, windows to outer bays; 4 regularly disposed windows to each floor above. 2-storey block to left with door to right of centre at ground, 2 windows to left and corbelled angle to outer left, modern window slapping to right, 4 windows to 1st floor.
SE ELEVATION: apparently rebuilt in brick with single storey projection off-centre left of 3-storey bays, metal fire escape and orielled timber bathroom(?) to right.
4-pane and plate glass glazing patterns in timber sash and case windows except to modern window. 3-storey block with purple slates; coped ashlar gablehead stacks and ashlar-coped skews. Modern tiles to lower block.
