Description
24 Montgomery Street in East Kilbride is a former house, now used as offices, dating from the earlier to mid 19th century. The building is two stories high and has three bays, constructed from squared and snecked sandstone with ashlar dressings, and is harled on the northwest side and rear.
The principal elevation facing southwest features a central door at ground level with a letterbox fanlight, flanked by stone mullioned bipartite windows. The first floor has regular fenestration under the eaves.
The gable ends are blank, with a stone gable on the southeast side facing Montgomery Wynd. The northeast rear elevation has three bays and includes a modern lean-to addition that projects from the center and right.
The windows are timber sash and case with plate glass glazing, which is irregular on the rear. There are window grilles at ground level. The roof is slate, with stacks removed and a zinc flue. The northwest gable has corbelled eaves.
