Description
The Old Mill in Monimail is a late 18th-century building that was originally a meal mill and has now been converted into a residential property. The structure consists of a two-storey main block connected by a narrow bay to a single-storey cottage to the north, which is set at right angles, creating an L-shaped plan.
The two-storey block is built from rubble, featuring contrasting yellow ashlar dressings. It originally had two central doors, although one has been converted into a window. There are single windows in the outer bays and two first-floor windows, all of which are casement windows with astragals. The building has corniced end stacks and a pantile roof with a slate easing course.
The single-storey cottage has three bays and a central door, is harled, and features 12-pane sash windows. It also has additional linking bay to the mill. The cottage has corniced stacks and a pantile roof.
