Description

The monument, located to the west of the walled garden at Melville House, was erected after 1865. It features a tall, battered square column that stands on a stepped base and is set on a pedestal. The monument is topped with a projecting flat pyramidal cap adorned with acroteria. It is constructed of polished ashlar.
