Description

Nellfield is an early 19th century, 2-storey house with an attic and three bays, designed in a classical style. The exterior is rendered and lined to resemble ashlar, featuring painted stone margins, quoin strips, a base course, an eaves course, a cavetto cornice, and a blocking course.

The north elevation, which faces the entrance, is symmetrical and includes a wide doorcase supported by Ionic columns, complete with a fluted frieze and cornice, and a central panelled door. There are windows in the flanking bays, with regular windows on the first floor and a blinded window in the center.

On the south elevation, there are three windows on both the ground and first floors. The east elevation features a central door flanked by windows on the ground floor, with a blinded window to the right; there are three windows on the first floor, with a blinded window to the left, and two small attic windows in the gablehead, one of which is blinded.

The west elevation has a window to the left of center on the ground floor, a smaller window in the center on the first floor, and two small attic windows in the gablehead. The house has timber sash and case windows with 12- and 6-pane glazing patterns. The roof is covered with graded grey slates, and there are coped ashlar stacks with a full complement of polygonal cans, lead-covered ashlar coped skews, cast-iron downpipes, and decorative rainwater hoppers.

The property is enclosed by boundary walls made of random rubble with ashlar coping, along with ashlar gatepiers topped with pyramidal finials.
