Description

Burntisland Parish Church, dating from the late 16th century and later, features high rubble walls that enclose both the church and its graveyard. In the southwest corner, there is a derelict rubble lean-to building.

Inside the church, the east wall displays a Renaissance mural monument dedicated to Captain Andrew Watson and his wife Isobel Watson, as well as John Watson and his wife Euphamie Orrock, complete with a family crest and dated 1689. On the south wall, there is a classical monument with a heavy hoodmould honoring John Young and his family.

The gravestones in the graveyard are mostly of a simple moulded apex style, featuring various inscriptions. Notable commemorations include John Orrock, a shipmaster, whose gravestone depicts a sailing boat, and George Arnot, a local figure who passed away in 1850. His headstone, erected by public subscription, shows him with a wheelbarrow.
