Description
The building known as Steading at Orkie Miln dates from 1823 and is a large, symmetrical, classical structure that stands two stories high and features nine bays on its south range, along with some modern additions. It is constructed of droved ashlar stone. The central bay is prominent, featuring a tall, advanced section with a pediment, a shallow arched pend, and a Venetian window above that has intersecting tracery, along with an oculus in the pediment. The bays on either side of the central bay contain single rectangular door and window openings, most of which have been blocked; garage doors have been inserted in the left bay. There are corniced stacks symmetrically placed on either side of the central bay. The roof is slated, and there are modern gabled additions on the flanks that are not of particular interest.
