Description
The Edenbank Road Bridge over the River Eden is a late 18th century structure. It is built of rubble and features coped parapets with grooves for railings, along with splayed back walls at the approaches and droved corner dressings. There has been later repair work done in brick. The bridge has a segmental main arch that spans the River Eden, with droved voussoirs and triangular cut-waters that have battered copings on the west side. Additionally, there are higher-set subsidiary arches on the sides designed to accommodate flood levels.
