Description
The Stable Block at Braxfield House, dating from the late 18th century with later additions and alterations, is a single-storey, seven-bay structure (with two additional bays added to the east). Originally designed in a symmetrical, rectangular plan, it features a piend roof and classical elements, including a central entrance bay with a pediment and pilasters, which contains an entrance arch. The building is constructed from red rubble sandstone, accented with droved cream ashlar dressings and has long and short quoins. The windows are regularly spaced and feature ashlar margins, predominantly consisting of 12-pane glazing in timber sash cases. The roof is covered with graded grey slates and includes skylights.
