Description

The Glebe, located on Manse Brae in Rosemarkie, is a building dating from 1833. It features a harled exterior with finely broached ashlar dressings and consists of two storeys and a basement, arranged in three bays. The central bay is slightly advanced and topped with a pediment, which houses a door accessed by a flight of steps that over-sail the basement area. The door is set within a segmental arched recess, complemented by sidelights and a fanlight filling the tympanum of the arch.

On the first floor, there is a Venetian window with Gothick glazing in the centre light, flanked by blind outer lights, all set in a round-arched recess that breaks into the pediment. The outer bays on the ground floor feature tripartite windows. At the rear, the central bay is also slightly advanced and pedimented, with a ground floor Venetian window similar to the front, and a blind bullseye window in the pediment.

The building has a ground floor band course at the front and an eaves course that returns as a string course across the gables. The gables have parapets that sweep up to the end chimney stacks, and the roof is piended and slated.
