Description
Gollanhead Cottage, located on Manse Brae in Rosemarkie, is an early 19th-century building that consists of a two-storey and attic range of two joined dwellings. The rear elevation facing the street is irregular. The exterior is harled with painted margins and features a slate roof.
The south elevation of Gollanhead House has four bays and includes two piended dormers. The west portion of the range, which includes Gollanhead Cottage, is built into an excavated hillside, resulting in a semi-basement for the ground floor. The south front is asymmetrical with three bays, featuring a central door at the first floor that is accessed by a flight of stairs extending over the basement area. There is an enlarged basement window and two piended dormers. The property is also marked by octagonal gatepiers and fleur-de-lis cast-iron railings.
