Westerlea, West Green, Culross

Westerlea is an 18th-century, two-storey, three-bay house with an attic, featuring a later advanced narrow central bay. The exterior is harled, with painted and chamfered ashlar window surrounds.

On the south elevation, there is a central door located in the advanced bay, flanked by single windows that are set back. Above the door, a first-floor window is centered, with additional first-floor windows positioned close to the eaves on either side, directly above the ground floor windows. The right corner has a rounded quoin at the lower part.

The west elevation is partially visible, showing an attic window to the left. The north elevation is also partially visible, featuring a central flat-roofed extension. The east elevation includes a small square attic window, with exposed rubble on part of the elevation.

The house has four and two-pane timber sash and case windows, although the entrance door has been replaced with a glazed and boarded version. The roof is pitched and covered with replacement concrete tiles, featuring crowstepped gables and gable apex stacks, with a pitched roof over the central bay on the principal elevation.

The interior was not seen in 2001.

The boundary wall is made of rubble, with a central gate that runs in front of the principal elevation from the adjacent Wrights House to The Old School House. The garden at the rear is enclosed by tall brick walls topped with ashlar coping stones.
