Description
Thornliebank Primary School, built around 1896 and designed by architect W G Rowan, is a single-storey building in the Tudor Gothic style. It is constructed of stone and features buttresses, a tiled roof with cupolas, and a weathervane. The school has a U-shaped layout with shouldered gables at each end, which include five-light mullioned windows. Porches are located at the angles of the building, featuring depressed arched entrances with cusping, four-part fanlights, and hoodmoulds that are linked to finials. The flank and rear elevations also display mullioned windows and gablets.
