Unitas Buildings, 10, 12, Main Street, Thornliebank

Unitas Buildings are a three-storey tenement dating from 1906. The building has a curved facade facing the street. A series of prominent gables, each two bays wide, rise from the wallhead, supported by flue-bearing cross-walls. A single bay dormer-head is located on the left side.

The building is constructed of polished yellow ashlar, with the exception of the north flank and rear, which are yellow brick. Most windows are bipartite and have curved cills with a central corbel; the ground floor windows contain plate glass sashes. Shops occupy the corners, with a canted corner bay on the south side featuring a wavy parapet. An attic room has a leaded, bell-cast roof and wall-head stacks are situated alongside each elevation. The south flank is finished with polished ashlar. The roofs are slate.
