Description

Cauldside is an 18th-century single-storey cottage featuring an ingleneuk chimney that projects at the front. To the right, there is a modern harled extension. The cottage is adjacent to a similar but significantly altered farm cottage. The building is constructed of random whinstone rubble that has been harl-pointed, with dressings that have been renewed in concrete. The ingleneuk is made of random rubble and has a doorway inserted, with a window to the right. The structure is shouldered at the height of the first floor and at the roof level, rising to a corniced stack.
