Description

Grange Cottage is a detached cottage located at right angles to the road, dating from the late 17th century, with an extension from the mid-18th century. The initials and date "I.N. 1756" can be found below the east stack. The cottage has been refenestrated in the 20th century. Its walls are made of rubble stone, with dressed stone quoins. The thatch roof is hipped on the left side and gabled on the right. There is a stone stack at the center ridge, topped with 20th-century brick cappings. The building is L-shaped and has two storeys.

On the south elevation, there are three windows on the ground floor, including a 20th-century French window and a three-light window. Above, there are three two-light windows, all of which are wood casements with lead lights, wood cills, and wood lintels from the 20th century. The front door, located on the right side of the ground floor, is a plank and glazed door from the 20th century, with a heavy thatch porch canopy supported by two wooden posts, also from the 20th century. Inside, there are two open stone fireplaces that are back-to-back, each with wood lintels above.
