Description

This boundary stone, dated 1814, is located in the grounds of Sherborne Park. It is made of what is probably Chilmark stone and has a triangular shape, measuring about 200 millimeters wide on each face and approximately 1.1 meters tall. The stone features an ashlar finish and has a flat top. Incised on the tops of its panels are the inscriptions "Milborne Port 1814," "0borne," and "Sherborne." This stone marks the limits of three parishes and also serves as a county boundary marker.
