21, 23 High Street, East Linton

This building, located at 21 and 23 High Street in East Linton, dates from around 1840 and is a two-storey, four-bay house with an attic. It is constructed from squared and coursed grey sandstone ashlar and features a cill course at the first floor level. The entrance door, located in the second bay from the left, has a strip fanlight and is sheltered by a shallow bracketed porch. There is a window to the left of the entrance.

To the right, there is a shopfront that includes a door and strip fanlight, spanning across the two bays. Each bay on the first floor has a window. The attic features piend roofed slate-hung canted dormers in the first and third bays from the left.

The gable wall to the north includes a doorway and window to the left, with an attic window on the right. The building has sash and case windows, primarily with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates, has straight skews, and features sandstone end stacks.
