Description
The Whim is a small round tower folly or lookout post located on Gullane Hill, dating from the late 18th century. The structure is built of rubble, which was formerly harled. There is a rubble boundary wall that runs along the south and northeast sides of the property. At the eastern side, there is a projecting porch. The tower features three lights under the eaves, with 4-pane glazing in sash and case windows. It is topped with a slated cone roof that has a decorative cast-iron finial.
