Description
Castellated Folly at Kirkconnell Lea was built around 1870. This picturesque folly is situated above a steep slope and features a west-facing semi-circular turret that is flanked by lower screen walls. The structure is constructed from rubble with ashlar dressings and copings. The tower is crenellated and includes dummy machicolations, while the flanking walls are plain. To the east, there is a flat open area. Access to the folly is from below, on the west side, via stone steps that lead up to a retaining wall with a circular pier topped with a ball finial.
