Description

This building is a dovecot located at West Meikle Pinkerton Farm, likely dating from the 17th century. It features a beehive shape with a low piend roofed addition that projects to the side, which was probably a windmill originally. The structure is made of roughly coursed rubble, which was previously harled, and has a string course below 17 flight holes located under the former eaves. There is a low doorway, and the original conical slated roof has collapsed. The dovecot originally contained 762 nesting boxes of an unusual form. The piended extension has a pantiled roof and includes an opening by the dovecot.
