Description
The Gate Lodge and Gate Piers at Pinkie House, located on High Street in Musselburgh, date back to the 17th century, with some features reset in the 19th century. The lodge is integrated into a high park wall and features ball finials on the outer angles. On the northeast side, there is a bonded Roman Doric circular pier built into the wall. The structure is made of sandstone rubble and has a piended slate roof.
The return elevation includes one window outside the gate, one door, and two windows, one of which is bipartite, within the gate area. There are four gatepiers connected by a rubble screen wall that has doorways, although the right doorway is blocked. All the piers are channelled with entablatures and topped with obelisks, with the central piers being wider and panelled.
