Description
The French Ambassador's House, located at 7 High Street in Musselburgh, is a 17th-century building that has been restored and significantly altered. It stands two storeys tall and features four windows across its façade. A wide segmental arched pend now replaces a former small window and doorway on the right side. The central window has replaced what was once a doorway. The exterior is harled, with raised sandstone margins around the windows and pend, as well as gablet dormer heads with finials above the first-floor windows, which are six-pane sash windows. The building is topped by a very high and steep pantiled roof.
